Crafting Natural Beauty, One Grain at a Time
About Me
I'm a South African wood artist with a deep respect for nature and a passion for creating handcrafted pieces that celebrate the natural world. I work primarily with sustainably sourced indigenous woods, allowing each piece of timber to guide my process. Whether it's a sculpture, a bowl or a functional table, every creation is a unique conversation between myself and the wood.
My Ethos
Nature leads, I follow ... I believe in working with the grain, not against it. My designs emerge from the character of the wood itself; its textures, knots, and contours. Each piece is shaped to honour what the tree has already become.
Sustainability is non-negotiable ... I use responsibly sourced or salvaged wood wherever possible. Nothing is wasted. Every offcut, every scrap, finds a place or purpose. My aim is to work in harmony with the environment, not take from it.
Handcrafted, always ... There’s a human quality in hand tools that machines simply can't replicate. I incorporate traditional woodworking techniques to ensure that each item not only looks beautiful, but feels alive, rich in detail, form, and soul.
What I Make
I create functional art and sculptural pieces; objects that are as practical as they are beautiful. From one-of-a-kind furniture to decorative display bowls, everything I make is thoughtfully crafted, timeless in design, and built to be lived with.
Furniture & Utility Pieces ... custom tables, benches, light fittings
Display & Art Objects ... sculptures, bowls, vessels, and statement pieces
Commissions ... collaborative works tailored to your space and style
Why I Do It
Wood tells a story. It’s full of memory, movement, and quiet power. My role is to reveal that story, to craft pieces that connect people to the natural world in a meaningful, lasting way. I take great pride in making something honest, something real, that someone will treasure and use for years to come.
If you’re drawn to natural materials, simple beauty, and work infused with real integrity, I’d love to hear from you.
